Requesting an invitation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It is not a contract for energy switching, it does not change your current energy supply, and it does not guarantee you a place.
Nothing on this site is financial or energy advice. We will always strive to find you the best price available, though no service can guarantee a particular plan is the cheapest at every moment.
What these terms cover
These terms apply to your use of autoswitch.ie and to requesting an invitation to the AutoSwitch private beta. By using the site, you agree to them.
They do not cover the AutoSwitch switching service itself, because that service is not available yet. When it launches it will come with its own terms covering how switching works, what we charge and what we commit to. You will be asked to agree to those separately, and they will not be applied to you retrospectively.
What AutoSwitch is today
Today, AutoSwitch is a website describing a service we are building, and a list of people who want early access to it.
We are building an automated energy switching service for Irish households. It is not operating yet. We are not currently switching anyone, comparing live tariffs on your behalf, or acting as an intermediary between you and any energy supplier.
Descriptions of what AutoSwitch will do are statements of intent about a product in development. Features may change before launch.
Requesting an invitation
When you request an invitation:
- You are asking to be told when AutoSwitch is ready. That is all it is.
- It is free, and there is nothing to pay at any point in the invitation process.
- We cannot promise a timeframe, or that everyone on the list will receive an invitation. We are onboarding gradually so we can support people properly.
- You can leave the list whenever you like. Email info@autoswitch.ie and we will remove you.
- Please use your own email address, and one you can actually receive mail at.
We may decline or withdraw an invitation, for example where a submission looks automated or abusive. If you think we have got that wrong, get in touch and we will look again.
Nothing here is advice
The guides in our Insights section, and the figures used to illustrate how AutoSwitch works, are general information only. They are not financial, legal or energy advice, and they are not a personal recommendation.
The whole point of AutoSwitch is that we do the work of finding you a better price, and we will always strive to get you the best deal available to you. What we cannot do is promise that any single plan will be the cheapest on the market at every moment. Energy prices move constantly, plans differ in ways that suit different households, and no service can honestly guarantee otherwise. What we commit to is looking, continuously, on your behalf.
AutoSwitch is not currently accredited by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU). We will say so clearly, here and elsewhere, if that ever changes.
Our content and yours
The AutoSwitch name, logo, design and written content on this site belong to us. Please do not copy or republish them without asking, though you are very welcome to link to us.
Energy supplier names and logos shown on this site are the property of those suppliers. We use them only to identify each supplier, and their appearance does not imply any partnership, endorsement or affiliation.
Availability
We aim to keep the site up and working, but we cannot guarantee it is always available or free of errors. It is a pre-launch website, so occasionally we will take it down or change it without notice.
If the invitation form is not working, that is a bug rather than a rejection. Try again later, or email us and we will add you manually.
Our responsibility to you
We take this seriously and we try to get it right. But because nothing is being sold here and no service is being delivered yet, our liability in connection with this website and the invitation list is limited to the fullest extent Irish law allows.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
We may update these terms as AutoSwitch develops, and the current version is always the one published here.
